An audition is much like a job interview. It is a chance for you to show your performance strengths and your personality. It is a mini-performance and should always be fun, not frightening. It helps to think of it as a small performance that could lead to a larger one. For any show, auditionees might be asked to read selections from the script, bring in a prepared monologue or song, do an interview or improv, or many other options pending on show/casting needs. After taking this course, students will be able to prepare for a variety of audition settings by finding appropriate material and honing skills.
