Comfortably ensconced in his charming Connecticut home, Sidney Bruhl, a successful writer of Broadway thrillers, is struggling to overcome a dry spell which has resulted in a string of failures and a shortage of funds. A possible break in his fortunes occurs when he receives a script from a student in the seminar he has been conducting at a nearby college—a thriller that Sidney recognizes immediately as a potential Broadway smash. Sidney’s plan, devised with his wife’s help, is to offer collaboration to the student for co-credit. Or is it? DEATHTRAP provides twists and turns of devilish cleverness, and offers hilariously sudden shocks in such abundance that audiences will be spellbound until the very last moment.

  • Auditions may consist of cold readings from the script. 

  • Auditionees will only need to come to one night of auditions, unless requested to return.

  Starts February 16 and end on April 26, 2026

  • Feb 16 - March 4: Mon - Wed from 6-8pm

  • March 9 - April 16: Mon - Thurs from 6-9pm

  • Not all actors may be called for every rehearsal

  • Additional rehearsals may be scheduled during weekends/holidays if scheduling allows

  • Schedule will be finalized after auditions at the director's discretion.

  • Sidney Bruhl   |  Lead, Male, age 50-69
    Polished, dashing, devious, clever, thinks he’s the smartest man in the room and wants people to know it; is “on stage” even when at home.

  • Clifford Anderson  |  Lead, Male, age 18-30
    A very clever student; boyish and handsome at the same time; physically fit; knows he’s the smartest man in the room and can bide his time to display it; covers it with innocence, affection, and naïveté.

  • Myra Bruh  |  Supporting, Female, age 40-60
    Sophisticated, upper-class, but embraces the country life; innocent, sweet, caring, emotional, nervous, even skittish, supportive of Sydney’s career and moods but grows some backbone when he crosses the line.

  • Helga ten Dorp  |  Supporting, Female, age 30-99
    Psychic, wild, individual, Gypsy-like; in and out of her world and this world; knows she’s a celebrity and buys into the show of her gift; has a Dutch accent; is disarming and brave when faced with pain and violence.

  • Proctor Milgrim  |  Supporting, Male, age 30-99
    Professional, solid, observant.

  • There is a $30 cast fee (due after cast list is posted); the fee cover scripts and essential production costs, like costume cleanings, to ensure a high-quality experience for everyone. In addition you will receive an RHT Season T-shirt.
